The newest of the new rides is called Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. You will take on the treacherous terrain of the towering Forbidden Mountain in this high-altitude, high-speed train adventure. The mountain is full of surprises: Beware the snarling beast who watches over his domain... the Yeti!
Disney-MGM Studios has a wild 60-mile-per-hour “limo” ride on the Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith (48” minimum height) and the insane Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, a completely random 13-story free-fall in an abandoned hotel elevator shaft (height requirement 40”). Be sure and see the new "Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show."
The Magic Kingdom is where Cinderella and Mickey Mouse live. It is part of the Disney World Resort which now has four parks and two water parks: Blizzard Beach (22 slides cover a snowy mountain) and Typhoon Lagoon (56 acres of watery fun). The Magic Kingdom has fourteen exhibits for the little ones including “It's A Small World.” It also has the famous Space Mountain (height requirement 44”), Splash Mountain and the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (both have a 40” height requirement).
At Epcot, kids can join fellow astronauts in the new Mission: SPACE (44” height requirement) or pretend to be crash test dummies riding Epcot's Test Track (40” minimum height requirement). The whole family will be flying high at Epcot's newest attraction, Soarin', where you'll get a bird's-eye view of California's wonders like the Redwood Forest, the Golden Gate Bridge, Yosemite National Park and Napa Valley.
Islands of Adventure, a Universal Orlando Resort, has rides like The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man (height requirement 40”) and roller coasters like Dueling Dragons (height requirement 54”) and The Incredible Hulk (height requirement 52”). The Jurassic Park River Adventure (height requirement 42”) may be too fearsome for some young ones but captivates others. Brave young explorers can soar on the Pteranodon Flyers (height requirement 36”). SeaWorld Orlando' s newest show is Blue Horizons, a Broadway-style spectacular with daring acrobatic performers, dolphins, false killer whales and tropical birds. Shamu, the killer whale, is a super star in two different shows, Shamu Adventure during the day, and Shamu Rocks America at night. Ride Kraken, Orlando's only floorless coaster with seven upside-down loops to heights of 15 stories at 65 miles per hour (height requirement 54"). Journey to Atlantis (height requirement 42") is one part roller coaster, two parts water ride and you will get wet!
Universal Studios Florida is best known for high-speed roller coasters and thrilling movie-themed attractions like Revenge of the Mummy – The Ride (height requirement 48”) and Men in Black Alien Attack (height requirement 48”). Younger siblings might get to meet SpongeBob SquarePants at Nickelodeon Studios and get slimed. At the end of the day the whole family can get together for a wild adventure at Shrek 4-D.
