The stunning Wainae Mountains provide a backdrop for this 300-acre golf resort, 30 miles from Honolulu International Airport and minutes from Makaha Beach, famous for surfing. The Makaha Resort is on Oahu -- the same island as Waikiki, Diamond Head, Sunset Beach and Turtle Bay. Though beautifully secluded, Makaha Resort & Golf Club is just one hour from Waikiki, and a short drive from attractions like Hawaii's only water park with 20 acres of waterslides and play pools; shopping -- everything from local craft boutiques to premium outlet stores; Hawaiian luaus � fabulous Polynesian feasting and entertainment; and sunning, sailing, and snorkel at numerous Waianae beaches.

The western side of Oahu is known for its remote beaches, high waves in winter, and humpback whale-watching. Makaha Beach, two miles away from the resort, draws surfers, and a nearby stable offers horseback adventures. 	Accommodations

Five main buildings and 12 two-story cottages are spread over 15.8 acres at the Makaha Resort & Golf Club; together they contain 173 air-conditioned guest rooms accessed via open-air pathways and corridors. All accommodations at the Makaha Resort have private, furnished lanais with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors and views. Other amenities include refrigerators, coffeemakers, cable TV, hair dryers, and dial-up Internet access. Second-floor guestrooms have vaulted ceilings.


	Services/Features

Meandering across the foothills of the Waianae Mountains, with views of the ocean, the resort's 18-hole, 7,077-yard golf course was designed by William F. Bell and includes a driving range, open-air snack bar, and pro shop; private and group lessons are available (surcharges). The championship course was acclaimed for its beauty and its rigor by Golf Digest, and was named the island's best course by Honolulu Magazine.

Other recreational facilities at the Makaha Resort & Golf Club include a 3,600-square-foot outdoor pool with sundeck, game and fitness room with pool tables, stair machine, and treadmills, and two tennis courts. The resort offers banquet rooms for meetings, weddings, reunions, or other events. It also features wireless Internet access in the lobby, clubhouse, meeting rooms and pool-side. Concierge and bell services are available, and the resort has 24-hour security.


	Restaurants/Lounges

Kaiona Restaurant at the Makaha Resort & Golf Club - Contemporary Island Cuisine served in a Hawaiian cultural atmosphere set between the Waianae mountain range and overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Breakfast and lunch daily. Breakfast Buffet Saturday and Sunday. Dinner Buffet Friday and Saturday featuring seafood and prime rib.

Pumana Lounge at the Makaha Resort & Golf Club - Overlooking the fairway of the resort golf course with the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean and evening sunset. Cocktails and appetizers, soups, salads and sandwiches daily. Music by Hawaiian Entertainers Friday and Saturday evenings.
