Opened in May 2004 by boutique-hotel pioneer Kimpton Hotel, the Onyx Hotel caters to business and leisure travelers, with special attention paid to women and guests with pets.

	Accommodations

The Onyx Hotel offers 112 guestrooms with floor-to-ceiling windows in an 11-story brick-and-glass building. Along with each room's contemporary decor, guests will find that each bed features feather comforters with white duvet covers, chenille throws and throw pillows. Work desks are equipped with leather-cushioned chairs and leather pads, complimentary wireless Internet access and two telephones. Each room also has a 27-inch flat screen TV with pay movies and video game consoles and the hotel offers a yoga TV channel with complimentary mat and block. Guests can also enjoy the Onyx Hotel's complimentary CD library which supplies each room with a CD player/radio. And, finally, each guest bathroom features a charcoal-granite floor, pedestal sink, shower/tub combination with curved shower rod for extra elbow room, and leopard-print terry-cloth bathrobes for lounging comfort.


	Services/Features

The Women In Touch program offers hair dryers and straighteners upon request and includes items such as nail polish and pantyhose in each room's minibar. Strike A Pose provides a yoga channel on each room's TV and a complimentary bag containing a yoga mat and block. Office In A Bag contains a complimentary selection of office supplies. In addition to complimentary wireless Internet access in each room, the Onyx Hotel offers a complimentary computer in the lobby. Guests can also use a nearby athletic club free of charge.


	Restaurants/Lounges

The Ruby Room - an intimate bar/lounge adjacent to the Onyx Hotel's reception area features a stainless-steel chandelier with twinkling red lights, red-leather banquettes, orange upholstered chairs, and a flat-screen TV. The menu offers tapas-sized choices, such as pan-seared hake, salmon tempura, Argentine skirt steak, braised short ribs. Also available are shareable plates, sandwiches, burgers, and sweets. The Ruby Room serves dinner nightly.
